RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Senior Day of Prayer "Preparing for our Lenten Easter Journey" - "Preparing for our Lenten Easter Journey" on Tuesday, March 2. Once again, it will be led by Ms. Michelle Montey. She is the Director of the Office of Evangelization and Pastoral Planning. We will start the day with Mass at 9:00am and in the main part of the Church. After Mass, Fr. Nathan will have an anointing of the sick for those who want to receive this sacrament. After the anointing, we will proceed over to the Parish Hall for Michelle's presentation. We will conclude the morning with lunch served about 12:00 NOON.

Awaken Your Catholic Faith - God is blessing our efforts to invite our Catholic brothers and sisters to the Awakening Faith sessions. The sessions have started and are very successful. Please keep the participants your prayers. Thank you. The sessions continue on Mondays from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 in the church. No charge. To go to the week site click on Faith Flyer or contact the parish office at 983-5034.

Parent Reminder - On the Third Sunday of every month we ask all students, parents and teachers of our Religious Education program to please attend the 11:00am Mass. Thank you.

School Subsidy Guidelines - We remind parents wishing to send their children to any Catholic school in Santa Fe that there are guidelines set by the Archdiocese for subsidizing the children attending Catholic schools by local parishes. For the elementary schools each parish is asked to subsidize each child $300.00 per year. For High School there is a $1,000.00 in tuition difference for families who are regular active parishioners versus families who are not active parishioners. The guidelines from the Archdiocese are:

  1. Registration in the parish for one year prior to receiving subsidy.
  2. Attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days on a regular basis.
  3. Support of the Church through time, talent and treasure.
  4. Use of the Offertory Envelopes for monetary contributions on a regular basis.

This year we have had a few families who were turned down for subsidy because they did not meet the requirements set by the Archdiocese. Most of those who applied have received or will receive a subsidy. Please keep these guidelines in mind when applying for a subsidy.
