May Crowning - is scheduled for Mother's Day, Sunday May 9 at the 11:00am Mass. Children and all parishioners are asked to attend and bring flowers. Children in the third grade classes may dress in their First Holy Communion attire.
Congratulation - We wish to congratulate our high school and Confirmandi who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Saturday, April 24. I ask that the St. John's Parish Community to please keep them, their sponsors, and their families in your prayers. I would like to thank the following individuals for helping us out with the Confirmation Liturgy and reception: Monsignor Lambert Luna, Father Nathan, Edwin Gonzales, Robert Sanchez, Juan and Annette Salinas, Helen Fuentes, Wanda Carrillo, Willie Horne, Kelly Sandoval, Marcos Gonzales, the Eucharistic Ministers who served that evening and the choir. Third Grade First Holy Communion Schedule -
Vacation Bible School - will be held Monday - Friday, June 21 thru 25 from 9:00am to 12:00 Noon for children ages 5-12. This year's theme is "Son Quest Rain Forest - Follow Jesus on a life-changing adventure!" Children will have a week filled with prayer, bible stories, games, songs, crafts and snacks! There will be a $10.00 registration fee for each child. Registration forms will be available starting May 10 at the Parish Office. Parent Reminder - On the Third Sunday of every month we ask all students, parents and teachers of our Religious Education program to please attend the 11:00am Mass. Thank you.
School Subsidy Guidelines - We remind parents wishing to send their children to any Catholic school in Santa Fe that there are guidelines set by the Archdiocese for subsidizing the children attending Catholic schools by local parishes. For the elementary schools each parish is asked to subsidize each child $300.00 per year. For High School there is a $1,000.00 in tuition difference for families who are regular active parishioners versus families who are not active parishioners. The guidelines from the Archdiocese are:
This year we have had a few families who were turned down for subsidy because they did not meet the requirements set by the Archdiocese. Most of those who applied have received or will receive a subsidy. Please keep these guidelines in mind when applying for a subsidy.
